Bill McMurray Excellence in 9-1-1 Award
Bill McMurray was a 30-year veteran of the Marin County Sheriff’s Department and a former president of both CALNENA and NENA. He was profoundly committed to the Public Safety Dispatch profession and, sadly, he passed away in 2007 at just 51 years of age.
In honor of Bill’s memory, the California Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association (CALNENA) presents the Bill McMurray Excellence in 9-1-1 Award annually to recognize public safety communications professionals who have made a significant contribution to further the values and mission of CALNENA through personal action.
